Robert Ryan, Senior Vice President

Robert Ryan is currently BCA's Senior Vice President, Commodity & Energy Strategy. He joined BCA in 2014 as the Managing Editor and Chief Strategist for the CES service. Mr. Ryan was a consulting economist at Limehouse Research & Trading, prior to joining BCA. As director of options research at the New York Mercantile Exchange, he developed options on crude oil and refined products futures. After that, he spent 18 years in the markets at Clarendon Ltd; Bankers Trust; J. Aron; and Deutsche Bank. He also worked as an economist at the U.S. DOE; a roughneck and derrick hand on natural-gas rigs in Colorado; and a newspaper reporter and editor. Mr. Ryan is an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served as an Arabic linguist. He is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute at Monterey, CA, and Penn State University, where he received degrees in Journalism and Economics.
